HANNAH ELLISON

“I am an artist and illustrator born and raised in the creative city of Liverpool. My artwork has fluctuated over the past several years as I have experimented and strived to find my preferred illustrative approach. This style stemmed from my everyday monochrome style featuring a hint of colour, and artists I encountered during my time spent working in the Peggy Guggenheim Collection when I was in close range of artworks by renowned artists such as Max Ernst and Kandinsky. The general contemporary nude female protagonists remain a constant throughout my works whilst their surroundings or actions change to cater commissions or specific ideas and themes e.g. working in hospitality, reading, friendships. Originally these works were hand-painted (some of which are still available and can be done on request), but I began enjoying the vast range of options and techniques available through using Procreate and have been able to push my abilities further than expected. By keeping my illustrations’ themes open I am able to adapt them to current circumstances and keep them topical and contemporary”.
