Prints and Painting

“Imagine, living in a peaceful world. But what will inspire my work? Jenette Thomas has taught me how I am also fuelled by societal collapse. Push the boundaries of science and art. How can I link mental health related issues? I value my family and friends and look to them for inspiration. Metaphors! Looking at the way Dementia and COVID-19 are portrayed in materials. Distortion and more, twisting the wire around the hand, the brain, the core. So many ideas, careers, disease. I grow on the idea of a homage to my nan. Get rid of disease. But what will inspire my work? I’m aware of the world around me, a government unstable, unable, power. Socio-political, economic and environmental; is there light at the end of the tunnel? What is normal life without a mask? No war, no disease, no tears. But what will inspire my work? Parallel to one another, no contact, different minds, equality. Memories fade, loved ones no more, photographs to share in my hand and yours. A screen that separates, distance, no contact, communication through eyes and facial expressions. Humanity caged like animals, bed- bound, carers, isolation, lack of identity. Globally. Where are we? Who are we?”.
