Auction Information
The auction started off as a long shot idea written down in one of my notebooks for University. I never thought I would be able to organise it, especially at the midst of a pandemic. I started planning the auction out in one of the assignments for the Major Project practice module. It started off by researching other auctions, reading a lot of information about the art market and emerging collectors and artists and then ended up with a website, 12 emerging artists, over 100 followers on Instagram and some amazing artwork.
The open call went out through email and social media in December of 2020 and closed on January 29th, 2021. By the time the open call ended, 12 artists applied from around the world. The majority of the artists are based in England and the rest are from Bulgaria, The Netherlands, Curaçao and Poland. Muskaan Khemani is an abstract artist who works primarily with acrylic on canvas (her work is shown below), she was born and raised in Curaçao and is now based in Boston, USA. Mila Toneva was born and raised in Bulgaria and is now practicing in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. For more information on the artists featured in the auction, go to the artists page.

Muskaan Khemani, Projections, 2021, Acrylic on Canvas, Reserve Price: £40
This auction was a way to help support emerging artists during a time that was, and still is, extremely isolating. All pieces are made by artists who are trying to expand their practice and get some more experience working with an auction and selling their art.
By buying artwork from the auction you are supporting emerging artists, helping them to expand their practice and giving them the opportunity to become a part of someones collection.
