In contrast to her previous painting, this one was completed in the span of several months. Started off as an abstract expression of a sky, it turned into an experiment with Rothko’s many layered colour field theory. Many faces and blurred backgrounds speak of how she views our social interactions in the modern world. Fast- paced and emotionally unattached – “We’re like eels slithering through one another’s lives fake laughing and fake talking to the point where the border between real and artificial is hard to determine”.
