This painting was created during one of Mila’s heavier bipolar disorder episodes and she hardly has any memory of the actual process. Completed in one sitting, it illustrates the hectic and intrusive thoughts going through the mind during such state. The downright repulsive combination of colours, disproportions and difference of paint thickness serves to create an uneasy feeling and to provoke the general standard of what is considered aesthetically pleasing. As many other of my other works, it has a feministic note to it, focusing on the oversexualisation of the woman’s body.
